One increasingly popular series at the convention was Nadesico.  In fact, they played the Nadesico movie opposite the cosplay contest to split people between the two, in order to account for their lack of space in either room.

A very nice cosplay of the main heroine from Nadesico, Captain Yurika.  Her costume has lots of detail, right down to the ornamental patches!  All the Nadesico costumes I saw were nicely done.

The cook from the Nadesico series, Akito.  Someone explained to me that, when inside their mecha, Nadesico pilots have numerous holographic images surrounding them.  This silly man managed his own by hanging laminated pictures of Nadesico characters from wires attached to his head. ^^; Plus, notice his authentic frying pan and rubber chicken!  And the fact that security peace-bonded both of these as potentially dangerous weapons! :P

eva-nadesico.jpg	We have another Nadesico character in a shot with Asuka from Eva.  Either this series has a standard uniform color (yellow), or he's also going as Akito. I'm guessing the former.
ruricat-misao.jpg	If you've seen Ruri in a kitten costume, you may recognize that this cat outfit is from Nadesico.  I'm afraid I didn't know this; I'm glad she pointed it out to me. ^^; As for Misao, she has another picture in the Assorted section too.
