Next year's Possibility #3: Hotohori in his travelling clothes from Fushigi Yuugi It may not show from the picture I picked to illustrate to the left, but this is actually the possibility I'm reserving in case I want a simpler costume. ^^ In the actual series, the trim of Hotohori's tunic is actually orange, and the sleeves hang about half as much as pictured here. Plus, the cuffs are purple, not red. Of course, I could try to plan it as somewhere between the two, just for style... ^_~ I'd have to decide what I'd do about the sword. Hotohori just isn't Hotohori without his sword, y'know? But a real sword would be too expensive and probably wouldn't get past security, and I don't know what kind of fake prop I can rustle up without looking cheesy. Hmm... Overall, this is a three-piece costume: loose white shirt, red Chinese tunic with trim, and black pants. I might even only have to make two pieces, if I can find some everyday normal black pants that can be used for the bottom piece. |
