The Middle Ages:
Circa 460 A.D.
540 years before the Present, the world was a much different place to live. Even though the landscape looks about the same from a distance, 460 A.D. is the land of swords and sorcery, where swordsmanship is an art and magic is more freely used than any other time. What in the world is better than a strong, sturdy castle and a well-forged sword? Technology is nothing less than a wonder to these people, and battle is scourging of the land. Can the prince and his people stand up to the risks of war and famine?
Era notes:
Magic: |
Magic is more widely used and understood now than any time anyone can remember... Elemental and Disciplined; Fire to to Recovery to Illusion: many magical arts can be discovered here. |
Technology: |
Technology is in it's early stages. Most all new innovations involve springs and pulleys; outside energy sources from electricity to magic itself are unheard of. If you want to see the greatest inventions of the day, go to the Royal Armory to see a siege device in preperation for war...no steam engines, no gears; simply powered by ropes, chains, wooden wheels, and the determination of those who use it. |
